Now, if I were to ask what you look for in a game, I’d highly doubt, or would hope not, that any of you say that it would be 60 FPS. Apparently Glen Schofield, General Manager for Sledgehammer Games thinks it is.
For those of you unaware, Sledgehammer are assisting Infinity Ward with the latest in the Call of Duty series. Schofield, in an interview with AusGamers, hyped up the graphics side, naming anonymous competition – Battlefield 3 jumps to mind instantly – that they will be the only shooter released in that period to be capable of this, and confidently stated that he was “not sure any of our competitors will”
Johan Andersson of DICE made a good counter-point on Twitter, stating that:
“We think huge levels, lots of players, great effects, destruction, vehicles & varied gameplay are more important than 1080p, how is that a shame? Name a single FPS game that runs at 1080p on any of the consoles? We would have to do huge gameplay cuts.”
As it stands, I’m looking forward to both games, but the rivalry is huge now – will make the situation even more interesting when the reviews flood in for both titles.

Marathon News
sledgehammer are clearly forgetting that BF3 runs at 60fps on the only system worth playing first person shooters on.
Well we already know what Ign is gonna say when reviews start rolling in….
“COD COD COD COD COD 9.5″ “what, battlefield? Crap, let’s not sound biased…. 8.5″
Haha, well IGN did only give Black Ops an 8.5.
As it stands I’m getting MW3 as I do like my Cod. Probably not Battlefield as I’m already getting Uncharted 3 and probably Skyrim.
