Great job everyone!
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS!

It sounds like if it happens it will be similar to the God of War release from earlier this year. The rumor originally popped up on VG247 and was later confirmed by the game site The Sixth Axis.

This rumor is not really confirmed except for that The Sixth Axis says that their secret tipster confirmed it. For all we know they could just be trying to get more hits by confirming it.

I really hope this rumor is true though because every time I come across a used copy of either game they are busted at a certain point.

For a mere 300 points Japanese Club Nintendo members can get the entire 70 song, two disc, Super Mario Galaxy 2 soundtrack. We can only hope that this comes state side and we can enjoy this for ourselves. I would cash in every single one of my points for this as a huge fan of game music and especially the quality of the first game and now the second games soundtracks.

How many of you are foaming at the mouth right now.

I am a huge fan of game room so far because it is providing me with a way to play Atari, Intellivision, and Arcade games to their completion. The rewind feature is genius.

This week there are three releases of note. On the Atari side of things we are getting Haunted House and River Raid.

In Haunted house you play a pair of eyes on a black backround. The goal of the game is to escape the house with the urn of the previous owner. You must avoid bats, ghosts, and a Tarantula while trying to navigate the three floors and find the urn. It has been toted occasionally as the first survival horror game because you can only carry three items at a time and have to juggle what you need.

Next we have the Activision classic River Raid complete with the rainbow logo in the bottom left. River Raid is a really fun shooter similar to Super Cobra except it’s top down. You must shoot the enemy planes and avoid their fire while also shooting the fuel tanks to keep going.

This last one seems like a bit of a wierd one after releasing the Atari version of Millipede first but we now have the arcade version. There’s not really much to say about this besides that it seems to me that this should have been put out before the Atari one.

This week on Xbox Live Arcade the most notable release is DOOM II

“To save earth, you must descend into the stygian depths of hell. Battle nastier, deadlier demons and monsters with your trusty Super Shotgun. Survive more mind-blowing explosions and take part in the bloodiest, fiercest, most awesome blastfest ever. Recruit your friends and plow through 9 all-new levels in the new episode, No Rest for the Living! Play solo or multiplayer over Xbox LIVE with up to 4 players.”

I played all the way through DOOM when I was a child, however the most time I ever spent with DOOM II was the demo over and over again. I will never forget the magic carpet ride and chinese throwing stars.

Other then that you can play BEN 10 Alien Force: The Rise of Hex. I am going to assume that no one is interested in this game.

next we have an unknown quantity called Voodoo Dice.

Voodoo Dice:

“Roll the dice in a mystical world filled with exploration, puzzle solving, and adventure. Voodoo Dice is an innovative puzzler that challenges you to solve puzzles in unique and interesting ways in a quest to conquer the voodoo universe. Experience an endless variety of game play with 60 single-player levels, 20 multiplayer levels, and four multiplayer modes including Race Mode, Flag Mode, Tactic Mode, and Arcade Mode. Voodoo Dice will win you over with its immersive gameplay and countless hours of Voodoo fun!”

Sounds like a puzzle party game.

I am solely interested in DOOM II this week because I never got to play it through.

Fox is backing a Red Dead Redemption short film set to use only the in game assets. It is to be about 30 minutes long and directed by John Hillcoat director of last years financial flop The Road.

The Post-Apocalypse and The wild west may not be one and the same but if you think about it they have quite a bit in common. This could end up being quite interesting.

This is an HDTV with a weird Street Fighter border and when you turn it on it shows a picture of a Street Fighter character for 8 seconds. I am most definitely not a Mega Street Fighter fan.

I have enjoyed some of the PC version of Street Fighter 4 because I was gifted it. Still even if I was I can not imagine wanting to stare at Blanka for 8 seconds while I wait to watch that show about crazy killer ladies.

What’s your opinion on it.

UFC Undisputed 2010 will have an unlockable Shaquille O’neal. As A child I saw the film Shazzam starring Shaquille O’neal and have some fond memories.

After recently re-watching the “Urban” movie I can say it is a act of terrorism on your mind where it rains hamburgers. As far as I can tell no one here is all that interested in a UFC game, however I am looking to make it a habit to talk about Shaquille O’neal’s acting career.

Mass Effect has what is probably one of the best universe’s in gaming. Mass Effect 2 had story telling the quality of a good TV show. So it isn’t incredibly surprising that it has gotten picked up by Legenday, most notable for The Dark Knight, Where the Wild Things are, and 300, for a film. As of right now there are talks that the screenwriter for I am Legend may be working on it and that Bioware co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk  are to be Executive Producers along with Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson.

I have enormous faith in the decisions of The Doctors. Having been a Bioware fan since Neverwinter nights I have never been let down by a Bioware developed game. Hopefully I will soon be able to associate that same trust with movie franchises as well.

Insomniac has recently signed a deal not unlike the one Respawn did with EA partners. Insomniac has been know for creating some of the best Sony exclusives around and along with this deal they announced a new IP on the way. No details were given as to what the new IP may be, however it can have nothing to do with Ratchet or Resistance because those are owned by Sony. The head of Insomniac has stated that it is unlikely that we will hear anything more until much later. All we know right now is that it will be coming to the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

I have always really enjoyed the Ratchet and Clank games. While fun they have gotten a little stale to me recently. Resistance 2 was also in my opinion a huge let down. Lets hope they can work their magic and birth something beautiful out of this marriage
