Fallout 3 was well supported with DLC after its initial release, some of the best content available for the game being the DLC packs Point Lookout and Broken Steel. So far Obsidian has only developed one poorly received DLC pack for Fallout: New Vegas, Dead Money, but more are on the way. The onslaught of content begins with Honest Hearts, an adventure that sends you to Zion National Park in Utah where you get caught up in a war between two tribes. You can pick sides like in the main game and determine the fate of Zion National Park. You can expect to see this available for purchase on May 17th. More info after the jump.
Once again developers delay a highly anticipated game and fans get sad. Ever since we were calling The Last Gaurdian Trico it has been a long and arduous road. Looks like it’s about to get even longer as the game has been delayed into 2012 possibly. Considering the date before then was just 2011 Holiday, and even that was only for Japan for certain. Hopefully it isn’t delayed a full year and it’s only into January or February.
Another character for Platinum’s HD action game, Anarchy Reigns, has been announced as Nikolai Dmitri Bulygin and he has a super cool weapon. Obviously as you can tell from his name you can tell his weapon is a variation on the Tesla Coil but in robot fist form. There is a new character trailer to go along with the announcement so check it out after the jump.
No More Heroes Red Zone is going to have a lot of new features some of which aren’t really a big deal in America but are in Japan. They are bringing the blood to the Japanese version of the game and giving it a CERO Z rating. It’s will have Playstation Move support, 5 bosses from No More Heroes 2, 10 new missions, a Boss Battle mode with online rankings, and a “forbidden view” mode.
Considering we are seeing No More Heroes Paradise I doubt we will also be getting yet another version of No More Heroes in America, but it is cool that they are adding so much stuff to a super cool game.
I am a huge Mega Man fan and on top of that an even bigger Mega Man Legends fan, so I have been following the Dev Blog again ever since it started back up. Recently there has been some tips on the blog that something is going down o the 21st. Some sort of big news that I can only hope is that the game is greenlit once and for all.
The Mega Man Legends Dev Blog has been doing some really cool stuff with updates on how the dev team is doing, livestreams of Mega Man Legends games, and some opportunities to contribute to different aspects of the game and give the developers feedback while they are making it. It’s a really cool way to go about designing a game and I think everyone should check it out.
For a good while Gamestop has owned and used Kongregate on their site as a “Free game” attraction. Now it looks like they are going to take advantage of that to extend their points system to it. They are adding a system where by earning certain achievements in games on Kongregate can earn you points as well as by downloading the Kongregate android app and linking your accounts. This is neat for people who care about this kind of thing and I know they exist because I have met them and talk to them on a daily basis. Gamestop is becoming a larger and larger empire by the day, but at least they seem to be making decent business decisions.
Dino Crisis 2 and Mega Man 5 have both been listed by the ESRB for Virtual Console and PSN. The story I read is not incredibly clear, but I think that Dino Crisis 2 is going to be on PSN and Mega Man 5 is going to be on Virtual Console and not both on both platforms.
Either way these are classic’s in my opinion and I would be glad not to have to but a new Dino Crisis 2 disc just to play it again. No word of course on when they will be available, but most likely sometime within the next few months.
Netherrealms, developers of the new Mortal Kombat are not allowed to make a 360 exclusive character. Obviously as part of Sony’s backing behind the game. Sony had both 3D and Kratos as an exclusive character put into the PS3 version of the game. Mortal Kombat is looking to become a hot property again with the buzz behind this new game and Sony wanted to get in on that.
Apparently it had nothing to do with Netherrealms themselves but was a decision made by higher ups. Still kind of a bummer that Dom won’t get to wreck Scorpian’s face with his Chainsaw Bayonett.
American McGee’s Alice has a sequel, Alice: Madness Returns, making it’s way to consoles pretty soon. But the original which was supposed to be released on consoles never saw it’s release there. It was only released on PC where it gained a very large cult following. From a quote with an interview with American himself Destructoid has derived that it will be included as a DLC code with pre-order.
“There’s also going to be a pretty significant release which is the original Alice brought over to the consoles so that a person who’s purchased [the upcoming sequel] Madness Returns gets a download code and is able to bring Alice 1 onto their consoles and play through the entire original game alongside playing Madness Returns.” EA is apparently not talking about it, but it sounds both likely and cool. For those of you who never got to check out the original prepare to be underwhelmed, but still it is nice to see the new games roots.
Rage is the newest shooter from ID and it looks to be taking a totally different road than most of their other games. Rather than being a straight corridor shooter like usual Rage is an open world apocalypse. You can participate in races and car combat as well as exploring the wastes and shooting mutants in the face. There is a new demo video showing off an area known as the Dead City. Check it out after the jump.
