A young man, Bradley McCombs, passed away on Christmas Day in Pennsylvania. On his funeral was adorned some of his favorite video games, including a Ps3 and a small fortune in games. Unfortunately, Jody Lynn Bennett, a fellow Pennsylvanian, stole the items from McCombs’s casket and attempted to sell them for drugs. The man was eventually caught after a tip to the police, and was charged with “theft, abuse of a corpse and intentional desecration of a venerated object”
The mother of the deceased man actually apologized for the thief, blaming the actions on a drug problem.
What a jerkface!

It doesn’t pay to be a pirate! Or to use public e-mail. #headdesk
Qiang Bi, a 36 year old man from Ohio was sentenced to several charges, including: copyright infringement, mail fraud and identity theft over the span of 4 years, while he illegally sold pirated games for $10 a piece. My name is Code, and welcome to my corner! [It's the tiny office with 3 walls.] 2010 was a remarkable year in gaming, mostly due to my purchase of an Xbox360, and finally having access to all the titles on all consoles. There was no shortage of amazing titles this year, spanning all consoles and genres. So what was the best of the best? Which titles won over my heart in each console? Join me after the jump, and find out!
It was recently released that a collegian student in Korea passed away after a 12 hour gaming session playing a first person shooter title in the southeastern city of Ulsan. While in a gaming parlor, the young person identified as “Moon” passed out and fell to the ground, and was quickly rushed to the emergency room, where he passed away shortly after.
While no certain cause of death has currently been concluded, family remarked that he habitually played the game for extended hours, and was “addicted” to the game, which might have been a contributing factor.

It’s always such a nice time of the year when your game is getting hailed left and right as the prestigious ”Game of the Year”. While in such a good mood, looks like Mass Effect 2 developers are offering the DLC packs “Lair of the Shadow Broker,” “Overlord,” and “Kasumi” for a small amount of only 200 Microsoft Points. While they have previously discounted these DLC packs in the past, here’s your chance [and my chance!] to snag the bonuses.

Allow the FoxNews commentary to shortly begin! Pokemon Black/White has already taken a little flack for including the “racial” issues in their box titles, and for their legendary mascot’s frontal plumage. But now apparently, people are beginning to negatively remark about a possible “ground zero” north of the city which was inspired by New York City. The game is slated for a March 6th release date this 2010, but I’m sure everything will hit the fan long before that date rolls around.
Thoughts?

Great news for Xbox360 owners [*grumbles*PS3*grumbles*]! You can now purchase the DLC for Fallout New Vegas, entitled “Dead Money” for the rather low price of 800 Microsoft Points. With new weapons, new characters and new mission material, it’s a great deal that can help extend the already long life of the game.
Dead Money will follow the Courier as he/she finds themselves embroiled in a life/death game in search of a long lost treasure of Vegas.
No word on PC/PS3 release times for the SAME CONTENT. I wonder how much it would take to bribe Mass Effect’s directors to offer Mass Effect 3 DLC for Ps3 only [thus promoting PS3 sales of the game] and see how THEY LIKE IT. >:/ [Yes, it's not very professional to use emoticons, but this situation warrants it.]

Because apparently this is not a very bad joke gone horribly horribly wrong, EA Entertainment VP Pat O’Brien is seeking to create a film based on the “Madden Curse”, which apparently dictates that a sign of a player’s career is ending when they make the front of the Madden video game cover. The movie will apparently cover a ” former Madden video game champion who is forced out of retirement just as he finds himself on the corner of the game’s cover.” The genre has been defined as a “sports-comedy”.
Ehhhhhhhhhhh.

Because nothing screams the holiday season more than… err.. Well, blood curdling screams of horror and wet pants?
Anyway, the Dead Space 2 Demo is not out for Xbox Live and PSN owners. For those new to the series, the first Dead Space was a survival/horror FPS game, which followed the tale of Isaac Clarke, who engages a virus alien infestation which transformed the humans of a nearby space mining ship into disgusting “Necromorphs”. It got moderate to above average reception, and acclimated a rather large fanbase, if their in-depth Wiki guide is any sort of sign to that.

You may or may not have caught Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen stating that Kirby’s Epic Yarn was the WORST game of 2010, because it was “too cute”. While I’m a strong proponent of free speech and allowing the opinions of others to be heard, Jensen’s reasoning behind the game’s flaw as the worst game [which, frankly, let's look at some Wii shovelware and compare the two] were weak and baseless at best.
Apparently, Jensen also admits it at this point. He openly admits that the purpose behind the making of the “worst” game segment was to spark a controversy and get the gaming world talking about “cuteness” in gaming.
Frankly, I don’t see where a “cuteness in gaming” kind of controversy would go anywhere. Do we really want to completely kill the entire family-friendly market of games? Gaming market divisions would just as rather cut off their right arm and enter a Twister tournament.
