The fabled Wheel of Morality – becoming more and more prevalent in recent years – is a staple of the choose your story scenario where you, the player, must become a paragon of righteousness or a renegade of destruction. An interesting feature, but it is one I’ve become bored with recently, as I will mention as I plunge into the never grey waters of gaming morality.

Hey there! Well, tomorrow the stream takes over the blog, so I figured to do this stage now! It’s from Britt’s favorite game… assuming Skyward Sword doesn’t take that spot. It’s Snowhead Temple, from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask!

Getting closer! Also I have gotten my Obligatory Ice Level wish, as Scruff has dubbed one of the Links “ByJove”! Thanks Scruff! You are a crazy person. AND FOR THAT, I LOVE YOU. Anyway, today’s ice level changes with the seasons! It’s Icirrus City, from Pokémon Black and White!

Man, so many things to do before the marathon! And posting ice levels is one of them! Today’s level is from one of the first Gamecube games. It’s Cold Storage, from Luigi’s Mansion!

WHO’S READY FOR THE MARATHON? You know I am! The OILD ’11 Facebook page is still up! And let’s not forget our fine friends over at Fantasy Kingdoms! Have you all collected the items I made yet? Anyway, today’s level is from a game well-loved by Starmen.net and Fangamer. It’s Snowcap Mountain, from Mother 3!

Getting ever closer to the marathon! Today’s ice level is a whole ice ERA, and it’s from one of the best games of all time! It’s 12,000 BC, from Chrono Trigger!

Some of you might remember that I did a paragraph on Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter during the PlayStation 2 Staff Picks. I feel one paragraph kind of does an injustice to the amount of innovation placed into such a tightly woven game as Dragon Quarter. Furthermore, some of you also might remember a game called S.O.S: The Human Escape released by Human Entertainment (The first games company that Suda51 worked for). S.O.S took place on a sinking cruise liner that would become engulfed in the ocean in one hour. While on the surface, your goal was to escape from the sinking ship with your own life, that was only scratching the surface of the game as it would result in one ending. The true goal of the game was to explore the ship to find trapped passengers that need you to rescue them. Escaping the ship causes different endings to occur with different combinations of passengers. This can be considered the first example of a New Game Plus in video games and Dragon Quarter would take this concept to an entirely new level.

More ice levels?! OF COURSE MORE ICE LEVELS! Today’s level is one of my favorite series ever. It’s Ice Edge, from Viewtiful Joe 2!

Man it’s cold in this room. But what could you expect from Obligatory Ice Level Day, right? There’s an OILD ’11 Facebook page, not to mention the games by our buddies at Fantasy Kingdoms! The cameos continue as today’s write-up is done by a special guest! It’s Alton Plaza, from Snatcher!
