I ordered the Classic Controller PRO for the Wii recently, and here I unbox and test it out. Not a bad controller, but watch the video to see my detailed thoughts.

It’d be nice if I could get a black Wii, it would go well with my black Gamecube/DS-lite but I heard that the black Wii is going to be exclusive to Japan…correct? Anyways, excellent review Gwellin.
I heard that the Wiimotes were confirmed to come to North America in black, this winter. I have a feeling that the black Wiis will soon follow, if not released at the same time.
i agree completely,as soon as the black wiis come out, then the new wiimotes will probabaly be metalic green,i wish haha
I’m so jealous of this controller. This better shoulder button placement would come in handy so much for my Dragonball Z game, which I frequently play. Excellent video, Gwellin! I’m also jealous of all your Mario stuff. >_>

I gotta get myself one of those when they come to North America. Nice choice of game, Super Metroid is still in my opinion the best metroid game avalible.
I can’t figure out why you would hit the A and Y button together at the same time. It’s been a long time since I played Starfox64. I should get some wii points and download it.
Does that have extra buttons on it? The classic controller has 2 sets of shoulder buttons they are just placed in a weird position.
Holding Y keeps the Lasers weapon, and A is the boost, which can also be used for the somersault.
There are no additional buttons. The ZL and ZR buttons are now below the L and R buttons, respectively. The shoulders are pretty well the same as a Playstation controller.
Is there any controller you won’t import?

The first thing I always notice about Gwellin is how perfectly coiffed his hair is.
Anyway, great review! I don’t really partake in the VC that often, so I’ll probably be sticking with my Gamecube controller, but I can see the draw of the Classic, and this definitely looks like an improvement (love the way you had the game in the corner so we could see how it was working). And I’m not at all surprised about the way the black finish smudges, it looks similar to the casing on the black DS Lite, and that thing wears fingerprints like they’re going out of style. Sometimes I just sit and smudge designs on it, they look pretty funky when they catch the light.
(And three cheers for the ZED button!)

You know, its gonna feel weird. Having a White Wii and a Black Classic Controoler PRO conected to a White Wiimote. >_> Until it come to America I’ll just use my good old Gamecube Controller.
That controller definitely looks like an improvement for classic games that require the joysticks. Great video Gwellin.
