Famitsu went into detail about what the “Campaign Code”, which was originally thought to be a beta code for Final Fantasy XIV, is exactly. The code, which will ship with the first round of Final Fantasy XIII copies in Japan, will give you a secret item for when you start your adventure in Final Fantasy XIV.

Unfortunately that means no easy access to the beta, but at the very least you will get something to show your Final Fantasy dedication.
