PS3 owners who don’t have a gaming PC that were hoping to beta test Final Fantasy XIV are going to be out of luck. Square-Enix said that the beta will initially be a small closed Beta for PC only taking place only three to four hours each day, but the available times will increase as the beta continues. Eventually there will be a open beta, but when it will be available depends on the feed back of the closed beta community.
The PC exclusive beta could still change, but you should probably expect to upgrade your PC if you really want to get into Final Fantasy XIV‘s beta testing.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently planned for a 2010 release.
