The Rock Band series has been fairly active recently with The Beatles: Rock Band, Lego: Rock Band, and the upcoming Greenday: Rock Band. If that isn’t enough, Harmonix has even more Rock Band up their sleeve for you.

The Rock Band Facebook page updated confirming that Rock Band 3 will be hitting this Holiday season. “Harmonix is developing Rock Band 3 for worldwide release this holiday season! The game, which will be published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts, will innovate and revolutionize the music genre once again, just as Harmonix did with the original Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and The Beatles: Rock Band. Stay tuned for more details!”

Some details relating to Rock Band 3 popped up a few months ago thanks to Dhani Harrison who said he was working on the title with Harmonix. He claimed that Rock Band 3 was going to teach you how to actually play music.

Harmonix has since denied Harris’ claim saying that he was not involved in development of Rock Band 3 and that he was “speculating wildly.“
