Netflix is almost everywhere now, but soon you might be able to have it on the go with your Nintendo DS as well.

A consumer survey detailed what the service would be like.

Imagine that Netflix offers its subscribers the ability to instantly watch movies and & TV episodes on their Nintendo DS. The selection available to instantly watch includes some new releases, lots of classics and TV episodes. There are no advertisements or trailers, and movies start in as little as 30 seconds. You can fast-forward, rewind, and pause or watch again. The movies & TV episodes you instantly watch are included in your Netflix membership at no additional fee.

There is a small catch, but it is to be expected.”Whenever you want to instantly watch content on your Nintendo DS, your Nintendo DS must be connected to a Wi-Fi network.

I’m not sure if I would want to watch video content on my Nintendo DS. I’m  not a huge fan of small screens, but I guess that is what DSi XL is for.

Would you watch Netflix videos on your Nintendo DS?

I guess it’d be an interesting alternative to loading videos on to your iPod and other such handheld devicery but…is the DS really “strong” enough for this?
But hey, if you’ve already got a Netflix membership and it’s not gonna cost anything extra, then why not?

I’m also concerned about whether or not the DS is actually powerful enough to handle Netflix. There’s also the thought of this: “You must be connected to a WiFi network to connect to NetFlix.” Think about it, you could be watching NetFlix on something much more powerful rather than on the DS.

Is the DS powerful enough for this? I doubt it, but I might be wrong.

Really? Lol. They can’t port many awesome games to the DS but hey, lets stream movies and tv shows on it! haha

If you can receive video files on your DS, maybe one day you can send recordings off of it.

Once the DSz comes out in 2019. >_>

As I understand it, Netflix adjusts the quality of the movie to the speed of the Internet you’re streaming it through, so they would be pretty low quality – BUT if you’re a family with kids who have a DS or two, not only does this save you on attempting to haul around the portable DVD player, it also means the kids can watch whatever they want on their own screens.
