Bayonetta, it was a pretty good, yeah? It also sold pretty good. What happens when you put pretty good game and pretty good sales together? You get a sequel! Maybe. Sometimes. So how about Bayonetta? Well Bayonetta’s director, Hideki Kamiya, was asked if there was going to be a sequel. His answer? “I believe so.

Don’t believe him? Well, Kamiya says you should believe. “She’ll be back if you believe so.” See, just gotta believe!

As of right now, Platinum Games is wrapping up work on Vanquish, which is set to launch next month. Maybe we will hear about their next project soon.

Earlier this week we heard a tease for something Bayonetta related, apparently it was simply a budget release of the title in Japan. But there are a few new things fans will find in the budget release on both the Xbox 360.

While the cases have the standard Platnium and Greatest Hits boxarts, the art is reversible for a fancy pink box art, which you can check out after the jump. The game also includes trailers for upcoming titles from SEGA, like Shinji Mikami’s Vanquish.

As of right now, there have been no announcements for budget releases of Bayonetta in North America or Europe.

Announcements of announcements are always fun. Bayonetta’s director Yusuke Hashimoto tweeted a little surprise for Bayonetta fans. “It looks like we’ll be able to share new information related to Bayonetta this week. Look forward to it.

Of course, everyone’s quickest assumption would be a sequel, but really it could be anything – possibly not even video game related. But the director did recently mention the desire to create a spin-off to allow for a different approach to the Bayonetta Universe.

But it will be something Bayonetta, so look forward to that later this week.

Not only will Australia be receiving the Bayonetta special edition (apparently called climax edition) complete with an art book, slip case, and sample soundtrack, but those who pre-order the climax edition will also be getting a replica of Bayonetta’s pistol.

The pistol will only be available at select retailers so be sure to ask at your retailer before preordering. You can check out the full package after the jump

Lucky Europeans and Australians will be able to grab a Special Edition version of Bayonetta on it’s January 8th launch.  The Special Edition includes, of course, the game itself, a slip cover, an art book, and the sound track (Most likely a sampler; comes with only 6 tracks).  The Special Edition isn’t retailer specific, but in Europe only retailers in the UK, Spain, and France will be holding it.

Check out pictures of both the PlayStation 3 and X-box 360 versions after the jump.

Bayonetta is coming out in North America January 5th and in Europe January 8th.

While the PS3 version of Bayonetta is import friendly with English voice acting and all, some gamers who aren’t willing to pay the extra money will be happy to know that the title will be coming westward fairly soon. The release date for Bayonetta on both the X-box 360 and PlayStation 3 is on January 5th 2010 in North America and will be followed soon after by a European release on January 8th 2010.

Supposedly over in Japan the final retail release of Bayonetta is still seeing a few technical problems on the PlayStation 3, but the fact that the PS3 version got a 38/40 in Famitsu is  still a good sign, even if the 360 version got 40/40 in Famitsu. Of course in the two months that we are waiting for the title to leave Japan could change the outcome for the PS3 version in western markets.

Sega has so far only shown Bayonetta running on the X-box 360. While it looks great it was a bit suspicious why we never got to see a PS3 version up and running. Platinum Games and Sega held a event over in Tokyo to show off the PS3 version of the game and the results were…not too good. 1up had this to say about the PS3 version that they saw…

“While the 360 version on display looked crisp and smooth, the PS3 version was very blurry and the framerate was all over the place. During one portion of the demo, a crazy scene where you are jumping off of falling parts of a giant clock tower, it was often hard to keep track of the action because of the graphical issues on PS3.”

Hopefully the two months left till release in Japan will give Platinum Games time to fix the issues with the PS3 version of the game. North America won’t be seeing the game till next year though, so if the issues are still present in the PS3 version then there’s a chance it may get fixed during localization. 1up asked Sega about the difference and all they replied with was that the two games would be the same.
