So yeah, as I’ve said before, Zarla and I have some weird Left 4 Dead type characters. Though with each passing day, they move away from their fannish origins and move closer to doing their own thing. Not that I’m knocking fanworks! I’m just saying that’s how these characters are playing out… though neither of us have established names for them beyond the L4D infected we originally based their personalities on. ANYWAY the leader of the group is “Charger,” a no-nonsense zookeeper who once fought for conservation and breeding programs alongside her husband. She helped raise many of the animals in her zoo, so she had a strong bond with a lot of them. So when a mysterious virus spreads and kills or zombifies most mammals, she had to decide what the most humane action would be…
I. HATE. MY. LAPTOP’S. VIDEO. CARD. So I had other stuff to post before the marathon, but naturally my laptop’s video card has just about died on me. I’m in the process of building a new desktop (thanks in no small part to a certain bearded dork helping me get a nice video card…) but until then, you all will have to make do with stuff I’ve already drawn. THAT SAID, LET US MEET FOUR BAD GIRLS…
HEY ALL! Here’s something I drew for a Starmen.net Halloween Funfest last year. YAY! It combines two of my favorite games: Earthbound and Left 4 Dead! Because those things are totally related, right?? IT’S UNDER THE CUT!
Also, there were some requests for a wallpaper (or close to it) sized version of the poster design. So here it is! Have fun with that!
Yesterday Valve announced a handful of titles that they will be bringing to Mac via their new steam service for the platform. The original Left 4 Dead was missing from the list, but the Left 4 Dead blog confirmed the two year old shooter will be making its way to Mac as well.
Mac users might also be able to enjoy another shooter soon, Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Karl Magnus Troedsson of DICE said “We’re currently investigating the possibility of making BFBC2 available on Mac.”
It is good to see that Valve’s decision is making some developers look at Macs again. Hopefully many more will follow.

I love Valve. I love Half-Life and Team Fortress and Portal and Left 4 Dead. And part of why I love them stems from how much I love their characters. Valve is known for making awesome, distinctive, interesting characters that are arguably alive. Whereas many other studios’ characters merely inhibit ice, nothing more.
… Wait, what was I talking about?
More after the break
Hey guys, I got a chance to play the brand new Left 4 Dead 2 DLC: crash course recently and I recorded commentary as I played.
I have to warn you that this video does contain blood, gore and lame jokes so beware.
The X-box website’s Game With Fame feature recently posted up the opportunity to play Left 4 Dead’s new DLC Crash course with the rock-band Paramore. Usually these involve playing games with DLC that is already out or will be out soon before the session. Crash Course how ever doesn’t have a date. The articles wording was a little interesting though.
“If you’re an Xbox LIVE Gold Member (if not, upgrade now! ), and you want a chance to play the new Crash Course add-on for Left 4 Dead, send a friend request to the following Gamertag and be online half an hour before (5:30 P.M. Central Time) the Game with Fame session starts on Wednesday, September 23, at 6:00 P.M. CT.”
While usually they say a chance to “play (insert DLC) with (insert celebrity)” it says “…a chance to play the new Crash Course add-on…” and that is it. So if the article is worded correctly then you will get a sneak peek at the upcoming Crash Course DLC. I would say just to be safe except the DLC to be available after September 23rd, but don’t be surprised if the DLC shows up before then.
