A few days ago, two more employees left Infinity Ward. John Paul Messerly, Lead Character Animator, and Mark Grigsby, lead animator who each served at least five years.
With nearly a dozen employees leaving the developer, one has to wonder how this effecting the team. An insider from Activision who contacted Kotaku described the situation of the team.
“They’re scared shitless,” said Kotaku’s inside source. They never saw this coming. They can’t believe what’s going on. At first they gave us some bullshit about moving up payments of all the money they owe us to sooner increments. That was when [designer] Todd [Alderman] and [engineer] Frank [Gigliotti] left. But with the announcement of Respawn and all the people leaving, they just got there heads in their hands.”
The insider said the publisher has lost their trust, and “IW as you know it is dead…and it will continue to crumble.” He expects more reports of Infinity Ward members leaving soon.
Another unnamed Infinity Wary member argued against the “dead” statement. “First off, yes, it is a shitty situation, but there are two kinds of people left: ones that are sticking it out for the money, and others who want to make something work. We are not dead, we definitely lost original team members, but not all of the talent.” He goes on to say “We are here for the long haul of keeping the Modern Warfare name alive.”
What a messy situation.

Have you yet to jump onto the Modern Warfare 2 train? Not sure if the Multiplayer is up to snuff? Have a PC that can run it? Then this weekend you may want to check out a fancy deal Activision is offering over on steam.
Staring tomorrow at 4PM PST, Steam users will be able to play Modern Warfare 2′s multiplayer even if they don’t own it. Once the weekend is over, players will have to purchase the game if they want to continue to play multiplayer.

Modern Warfare 2 is only a few weeks old, but players are already asking for more. Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward said “DLC is planned fir the wonderfully vauge timeframe of Spring.”
That is still quite the ways off, but I’m positive Modern Warfare 2‘s current multiplayer will be able to hold fans over until the DLC hits.

The voice actor for the character Ghost in Modern Warfare 2 let a little information slip when talking about the future of the character. “…in this game I’m now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they’re talking about another little game to go with it”
It’s kind of hard to say how big a “little game” is. Maybe it could be DLC missions for Modern Warfare 2, but your guess is as good as mine.

The “No Russian” level in Modern Warfare 2 has been causing quite a stir and to no surprise Russia isn’t exactly happy to have a game where you can mow down Russian civilians in a airport. Unfortunately the controversial scene has gotten the game pulled from store shelves in Russia.
For the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward has already issued a patch that removes the level in the Russian version of the game. As for the console version a censored version of the title will be resubmitted to receive validation from the Russian government to release the game again. Infinity Ward hopes to have the game back on store shelves within a month.

Somehow one lucky french man/woman has gotten his hands on a copy of the PlayStation 3 version of ModernWarfare 2. Apparently they were streaming the title and found out that the game allows for a third person perspective. Also there is a mode which translated to “cage match 3rd person”
The video looks pretty legit. If the video is taken down I would take that as a confirmation, but who knows if Activision will even bother.

While one of the highlights of Modern Warfare was the new snow mobiles for single player, Infinity Ward said there will be no vehicles in multi-player. “Our focus is on fast-paced infantry combat, where you’re never reliant on transportation.” said Robery Bowling. He did say there were some kill streak support vehicles users could control for a short time, “For example, where you previously could call in UAV, Airstrikes, and Helicopter Support but had no control on how helpful they were, there are many more options which allow you to take control of the gunner or control its success a bit more for a limited time.” he explained.
Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled to hit this November in North America.
