Less than a week away until Pokemon Black and White hit the Nintendo DS in North America and Europe! If you pick up the title before April 10th (April 22nd in Europe) you can connect to Nintendo Wi-fi and download an event to capture Victini, the psychic fire Pokemon!
There isn’t much to say about the TV ads. They are TV ads, trying to make you, children, men, women and every other living being purchase Pokemon Black and White… And they probably all will. You can check out both videos after the jump!
With the DSi we got a handful of enhanced titles that made use of the DSi’s exclusive features. Almost immedialty after Pokemon Black and White were announced for DS and not 3DS, we have been wondering if there would be a special treat for those who pop the title in on their shiny new systems March 27th. And while the rumors have been flying around for months, it seems the final answer is no.
Pokemon Black and White Director, Junichi Masuda, specifically said, “other than just being able to play the game normally, there’s nothing special if you use a 3DS.”
Oh, well. We will live. I’m sure there will be a Pokemon title on 3DS soon enough to make full use of the platform’s features. In the mean time, enjoy Pokemon Black and White when they launch early next month.
Also be sure to check out our Classic Pokemon Marathon starting March 11th!

Europe tends to get the short end of the stick when it comes to releases. Even if it is more in line now, they tend to get their releases a full week after North America. Or in Kirby’s Epic Yarn’s case, months after.
But Europeans can stand proud with the release of Pokemon Black and White as it will be releasing March 4th! Sure, it isn’t a huge one up on North America’s March 6th release…but something is better than nothing? Of course, in the ideal world we would all get releases same day. But hey, I want Xenoblade translated, and that’s not happening… yet.
It will be kind of interesting to see how close Nintendo decides to put the release of Black and White to the 3DS’s launch. But I guess, either way, both products are bound to sell like crazy.

Well, we’ve finally gotten an official release date for Pokémon Black and Pokémon White versions from a press release earlier today.
In the press release, they shattered rumors of the April 17th or so release date and instead announced that the games will be released in North America on Sunday, March 6th in 2011!
Nintendo also said in the press release a lot of things we already know, such as version exclusive areas, Reshiram and Zekrom, and the changing seasons.
And for you TSGer’s, we no longer need to worry about not having access to english versions of the game during the marathon.
A trailer was also released for the games, which you can find after the jump
Fancy yourself some Pokémon Black and White but just don’t have the cash? Pay with your words, and you will get a chance to win Pokémon Black and White in Bulbanews’ holiday contest!
Bulbanews, the news section of Bulbapedia and Bulbagarden, is looking for some writers out there to write an essay about Pokémon for their website. You can write about everything from your opinion of the latest anime series, to your favorite second-generation battle strategies. And if Bulbanews like it, you might just win copies of Pokémon Black and White!
Other prizes include the latest Pokémon Ranger title, Guardian Signs, for second place, and the publication of your essay on the website along with an honorable mention for third.
To submit your article, head over to Bulbagarden’s forums, become a member, and then private message your submission. You can check out the full details via Bulbanews’ contest post.
Nintendo almost always releases two versions of Pokemon simultaneously. Aside from a handful of minor differences, the games are almost identical. Pokemon Black and White will be no different, but it sounds like something special might be in store.
The Japanese Pokemon website listed the typical different pokemon and encounter rate style changes, but also said “There is another big version difference as well, which we will reveal later!” What could that difference be? Only Nintendo and Gamefreak knows.
The box arts were also revealed, which you can check out after the jump. While the boxs are quite fancy in themselves, they did suggest that the game will have DSi specific features. The product number included “TWL” which indicates a DSi enhanced title. Normal DS games have “NTR” instead. So it sounds like DSi owners might get a little extra treat in the title.
Also, after the jump, you can find some “new” Pokemon Black and White footage, but its pretty much everything we have seen before. Walking left, Pokemon one-shoting each other, etc.

While it is somewhat low quality, after the jump you can find footage from the latest Pokemon Sunday. They covered a lot of old information on Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, but they did include some new gameplay that consisted of the starter pokemon fighting each other.
Unfortunately, there is no walking left to be seen. I wonder if that feature was taken out of the game?
Update: More gameplay added.

If you are looking for some new Pokemon Black & White screenshots, you can find plenty of new screens over on the official website. The three tabs on the bottom of the page show screens for the new town, characters, and starter pokemon.
On the bottom far right, you can also find more screen shots of the first Pokemon that was announced. It appears that his new move, Illusion, will allow him to disguise himself as Raikou, Entei or Suicune.
Again, you can check out the screens over on the official website.
Get ready for some semi old pasta! The stater Pokemon for Pokemon Black and Pokemon White have been revealed via leaked CoroCoro magazine scans.
There have been very few details confirmed from the article so far. But we do know that the title is going to take place in the Isshu Region, and that the protagonists will be older than in previous titles.
Now for the unconfirmed details. The Japanese names are listed for the starter Pokemon: Tsutaja, a grass snake, Pokabu, a fire pig, and Mijumaru, a water sea otter.
Other unconfirmed details include three new moves: Trickery, an attack calculated by enemy stats, Claw Sharpen, increases Pokemon’s accuracy and attack, and Illusion, which seems to be similar to Ditto’s transform.
You can check out the full leaked scans after the jump.
But just a moment! Also draw your attention to the lovely art Anatotitan did for the reveals. A fine wall paper for a fine reveal.
‘Kay, now hit the jump.

Thanks WiiFanBoy!
As interesting as it may sound, there isn’t really anything too brilliant here. All of the footage is just of a character walking left through town.
No new details were announced.
You can check out the footage after the jump.
