This week is a pretty good week for Wii owners. On WiiWare BIT.TRIP VOID (600 points) is now available along with Harvest Moon: My Little Shop(1,200 points). Learning with PooYoos (500 points) makes a return and a title called Little Tournament Over Yonder (800 points) is available as well. Virtual Console gets two great including Super Mario Kart (800 points) which we already knew about and one that’s a bit of a surprise, A Boy and his Blob: Trouble on Blobonia (500 points) for the NES.
DSiWare got a bunch of Electroplankton ports (200 points each) again, Castle of Magic(500 points), and myNotebook: Blue (200 points).
As always, there are more details on each individual title after the jump.
Super Mario Kart is coming out soon on the Virtual Console, but it seems like Nintendo be sacrificing a 3rd party game in the process. A member on NTSC-UK wrote “I was working for a company last year who submitted a SNES game to the VC which got turned down. Nintendo said it was because it was direct competition to one of their upcoming games which they were struggling to emulate for the VC. My prediction was SMK and it looks like I was spot on.”
The poster later confirmed that the title was Street Racer which also appeared on the Super Nintendo and looks somewhat similar to Super Mario Kart. This is just some random poster so we can’t say the legitimacy, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo decided to do this.
If it is true, hopefully Street Racer will eventually see a release on the Virtual Console. The more titles available for the service the better. But you have to wonder if Nintendo has blocked other possible releases because they were “direct competition.”

If you are a fan of Super Mario Kart, Pilot Wings, or Super Smash Brothers you will be happy to hear that all of these titles will be available on the service before the years end. Super Mario Kart specifically will be available this upcoming Monday for purchase at 800 points.
If only we could get quality titles like these every week.
