Conduit was a big deal for a lot of Wii gamer’s when it was announced a good while back. It was the first game to really look like it would produce a fun and interesting First Person Shooter for the Wii. Unfortunately the first game did not do incredibly well in sales, but that hasn’t stopped them from releasing a second game in the series pretty soon. In a video interview with High Voltage Software’s Eric Nofsinger he hint’s at what may be a 3DS entry in the series.

This GDC High Voltage Software was showing their redesigned versions of Tournament of Legends and The Grinder. While that is some fun and exciting stuff, G4TV’s Eric Eckstein noticed something more interesting towards the back of the booth.
In the back of the demo room there was a large poster with simply a 2 on it. The 2, as reported by Eckstein, was in “Conduit-esque font.”
Eckstein asked a designer at the booth if the poster was teasing Conduit 2. The designed replied “There’s more to come on that!“
SEGA took quite a risk putting three M rated titles, two of which were new IPs, on the Wii. While some of their titles turned out better then others, they all didn’t exactly move stunning numbers.
SEGA is planning to give these titles another push in Australia with their new Welcome to Violence bundle. This bundle includes Mad World, The Conduit, and House of the Dead Overkill. All of the price of $109.95 AUD. It will be available March 11th.
Not a bad bundle at all. It would be nice to see this move to other regions.

SEGA took quite a gamble with Wii releasing not only three mature games, but two of which were new IPs as well. While the titles did okay, they didn’t really break any sale records. Despite low sales SEGA said they would continue to stick by the market, unfortunately that is no longer the case.
On the 4 Guys 1UP Podcast Constantine Hantzopoulos, one of SEGA’s studio directors, talked about the low performance of their titles on Wii. After explaining the situation of The Conduit, House of the Dead Overkill and Mad World Hantzopoulous said “…are we going to do more mature titles for the Wii? And it’s like, probably not.”
Hantzopoulos says that the final nail in the coffin was the poor performance of Dead Space Extraction.
