It has been awhile, but a good bit of Zelda Wii rumors that are “leaked” have arisen. The rumors come from 2ch which has had some luck in the past with leaks, but just as many, if not more, phonies. Anyways, onto the details.
A good bit of the rumors pertain to Link’s arsenal of weapons. Link now has a new sword that isn’t the Master Sword that can help him travel through time. Link’s bow is also getting the swap for a crossbow.
The team is straying away from the “more items the better” formula, and instead focusing on having new creative ways of using old items. But for combat, sub weapons are being thrown in the back seat. The rumors detail the combat system as being heavily sword based. But a new alternative weapon Link can use will change up his combat style from the typical sword combat.
Rumors for details outside of combats say that there will be more character interaction, and there will be some Majoras Mask style side quests found throught Link’s adventure. Link’s starting home town is also supposedly going to be much bigger in this title then in any other title before it.
According to the leaker, the game is pretty much done. The development team is currently focusing on polishing the game up and creating a playable demo for E3.
And if it matters to you, the girl’s current name is supposedly “Adelle.”
Again, all rumors. We will find out if the rumors are true when we see Zelda Wii at this upcoming E3.
Also, E3 2009 art again.

First things first, this is in no way a confirmed date. It is simply a date listed from Gamestop. Whether or not this is based off of something they have heard or is simply a guesstimate is unknown.
A Gamestop listing for “Legend of Zelda” popped up with a November 1st release date. Usually the 1st and 31st are used as place holder dates on games, but occasionally they are shipping dates.
Again, this is in no way an confirmed date.

It is not often that you see Zelda Wii and the Vitality Sensor in the same sentence, but it seems Miyamoto might be pondering on combining the two.
Miyamoto spoke with NowGamer about the possibility of Vitality Sensor support to Zelda Wii.
“Whenever we are going to use any new device it is possible to expand the appeal to those who are new to the videogaming world. At the same time, however, it is also fun to think of ways in which we might apply that new technology to existing forms of gameplay – just like the way we are working on the new Legend Of Zelda together with Wii Motion Plus. As you become more scared, the enemies become even tougher. So maybe you might like to ask me to incorporate the Vitality Sensor into Zelda so that as you become more scared, the enemies become even tougher.”
The addition of the Wii Vitality Sensor would definitely be something surprising, and would be a bit controversial.
I can’t see how it would work since you are using the Wii Remote and Nun-chuck and then you would have the Vitality Sensor just dangling from your finger while playing. It seems like it would feel rather awkward unless you could clip it on somewhere else. Like to your toe or something.
Would you buy the Vitality Sensor and use it with Zelda Wii?
Nintendo was originally iffy on whether or not the next Zelda would be released by the end of this year, but Nintendo’s CEO Satoru Iwata has set a solid 2010 release date. It is unknown what region this date is for in specific, so some regions may have to wait until 2011 depending on how late in the year Zelda Wii launches.
Iwata spoke briefly on the DS successor saying that the system will have “highly detailed graphics” and include motion controls similar to that of the Wii.
Iwata also noted that they plan on showing off software for the Wii Vitality Sensor in July.

The Zelda series has seen quite a few forms of transportation. Link started out on foot and eventually mounted his very own horse before taking control of a boat. Next month Link will also have used trains to help him fight evil. But what is next?
In a interview with The Guardian, Eiji Aonuma briefly spoke about his child starting to play The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.“I have an eight-year-old son myself at home, and quite recently he started playing Phantom Hourglass for DS, because when the software first hit the market he was too young. When he started playing with the boat, I told him: ‘In the next Zelda, you are going to be able to ride on the train.’ He answered: ‘OK, Dad, first boat, and then train? Surely next time, Link is going to fly in the sky … ‘” Aonuma paused and then grinned saying “I just don’t know. If many people make many speculations … some of them might be correct. Right now, I have to refrain from commenting on anything.”
Link has already been launched from a cannon quite a few times, but I’m sure he would appreciate a much easier and less painful way of getting around via the sky.
It was just Aonuma’s son saying it, but often you hear about developers taking inspiration from people and things around them in real life. So maybe in the next Zelda we will see Link cruising the skies with a Airship or something similar.

Thanks Masamune
From the sounds of it, Aonuma and his team may have achieved 1:1 sword controls for Zelda Wii using Wii Motion +. Aonuma says “We’re taking advantage of MotionPlus. It’s become very natural – the movement of your arms is precisely reflected in the gameplay. Thanks to the technological advancements, we hope the gameplay can be more accessible to people.“
Aside from controls, Aonuma went in more detail of exactly how the Zelda Structure would change. “So far, the basic flow of the Zelda games is you’re exploring a field, you go to a dungeon, you conquer it and return to the field. We’re looking at altering that traditional flow. That’s all I can share, and I can’t say more until E3 next year.“
And last but not least, Aonuma confirmed that some of the Zelda Wii Speculation is indeed true saying”…yes I have read some of the speculation, and some of it is right! That is all I can say at the moment.” Unfortunately he wasn’t nice enough to tell exactly which theories he was confirming.
Most likely they will just keep dropping hints to tease us until E3 2010. What a long wait…at least we are getting something though.

(Speculation source: ONM)
Eiji Aomuma recently had a interview with Official Nintendo Magazine. While the interview won’t be entirely available till the next issue ONM, they were nice enough to share some tidbits relating to Zelda Wii. I think we all were already expecting to see Zelda Wii at E3 2010, but Eiji let out a little tidbit to reconfirm his interest in showing the title at the trade show saying “I hope that we can show you something at the E3 show next year and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising.”
ONM also asked Eiji what Nintendo plans on doing to make this title differnt from past titles, he answered “…we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version.”‘
So the wait for new Zelda Wii information still continues… only a little over half a year till E3 2010.
