Oh look, another cool thing for Europe, but this time not Nintendo related.

Vanquish! It’s looking to be a pretty cool game. You should play the demo on PSN or XBLA, or at least read my impressions of the demo (advertise).  If it seems like a pretty cool game to you too, and you live in UK or France, you can possibly get your own little Sam.

The Limited Edition version of Vanquish includes a 7″ (including the base) figurine of Sam in his fancy white armor. In the UK, the Limited Edition is a Zavvi exclusive. And in France, the Limited Edition will be available at GAME. Zavvi is currently charging £54.95 for it, but it is also listed as discounted from £69.99. So, I’m not sure which one of those are sticking.

Check out the mini Sam after the jump.

With the video game market slipping further and further from Japanese developer’s grasps, one has to ask what must these developers do to get a foothold in the market again. Many of them are beginning to dip their toes into one of the most, if not the most, popular genre in the west: the shooter. Titles like Square-Enix’s Mindjack and Tecmo-Koei’s Quantum Theory are evidence of this. But instead of just saying “it’s a shooter,” each title seems to be getting its own unique twist to differentiate itself from the flood of other shooters. Platinum Game’s third person shooter, Vanquish, adds its own twist to the genre giving players an advanced armored suit equipped with thrusters for some high-speed action.

Platinum Game’s Vanquish has guns, and it can have even more guns if you pre-order it at Gamestop. This trailer shows exactly what guns you will get if you decide to pre-order the title.

SEGA also recently announced that the demo for the title will be available on both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live starting  August 31st in North America and September 1st in Europe.

Vanquish will be launching October 19th in North America and October 22nd in Europe.

Are super fast cyber-suits, robots, jet-packs, and bullets your idea of fun? Then you will probably want to keep your eye on Platinum Game’s upcoming title Vanquish.

SEGA released another trailer for the game today. And while it is labeled a “gameplay” trailer, there are actually quite a few cinematics mixed in, but there is still plenty exploding robots to go around. You can also check out a handful of new screen shots below the trailer.

We have seen the new Vanquish pre E3 trailer, but how about some straight up gameplay? After the jump, you can find some lovely gameplay for the title. The video seems to detail some of the more basic aspects of gameplay, so it doesn’t look too exciting until the second half when he starts jetting in and punching a robot to death…er, to explosion.

Today SEGA announced that North America and Europe will be seeing Vanquish released this Winter on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. This falls in line with the Japanese release date which is also set for Winter as well.

While we haven’t seen any in-game footage of the title yet, many video game press sites got to take a look at the title. Many of them described the game as a crazy over the top fast paced third person shooter. Gamepro in specific said, “It looks like God Hand with a gun.

In my book, Vanquish resembling God Hand is nothing but a good sign.

Almost every shooter today has a online Multiplayer component, but Shinji Mikami doesn’t it would be a fun experience in Vanquish.

Mikami spoke with Eurogamer about the lack of multiplayer. “Vanquish is very intense, full of action. There are just so many things going on. When you take that into a multiplayer environment, then you have to realistically consider shaving a lot of things off and putting them into your multiplayer environment.

I’m honestly all for not forcing Multiplayer into a game if it doesn’t belong, but I think for a lot of people that is a major contributor in deciding whether to buy or a rent a title.

On the bright side though for PlayStation 3 users, the game is being developed with the PlayStation 3 in mind first, unlike Bayonetta. Platnium Games is handling development on both versions this time around, so the gap between the two versions are likely to be smaller.

Shin Mikami finally let loose some details with Famitsu about Vanquish which was announced this January, andVanquish is indeed a Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title.

Vanquish will be a shooter which is being developed with western markets in mind. The title includes Bullet Time which many shooters use, but that is about where the similarities end.

Making a normal shooter wouldn’t be interesting, so it has the concept of the feeling of speed and good tempo, and something flashy. There are lots of games where you shoot and kill people, so this time we wanted to try and see how we could convey the good feeling of shooting robots.

The main character, who wears flexible white armor, will be able to use a boost to close gaps between him and enemies.  Mikami also wants to have large numbers of enemies attacking at once, but is trying to not go overboard so that the player is confused.

A unique feature of Vanquish is that instead of having multiple weapons the main character carries a single weapon which shape ships into different forms.

Shinji Mikami says that development of the title is at about 80% completion and currently plans to ship the title this Winter in Japan.

You can check out some in-game screen shots after the jump.

Platinum Games announced on Game Trailer’s TV that they have a new title called Vanquish in the works that is being headed by Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami.

As of right now no platform has been announced, but it looks to be leaning towards a Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3 game. From the trailer it looks like its some sort shooter involving an attack on the United States where you play as a guy who sort of looks like a Master Chief knock off in white armor.
